Touchstones Gallery, Rochdale
7 July - 8 September 2012
This exhibition of contemporary work from the Art Gallery collection provides a counterpoint to the Edwardian paintings and objects on display in Gallery Two, which themselves were contemporary when the Gallery opened in 1903. It reflects the Galleries long standing tradition of collecting and provides an opportunity to see more recent additions to the collection including Stripes (red, blue, yellow, green and black); a series of 5 spirograph drawings purchased by Touchstones Gallery in 2008.
Work by other artists include Alan Birch, David Gledhill, Lubaina Himid, Vincent James, Susie MacMurray, Taslim Martin and Paul Rooney.
