SLIPPAGE: The Unstable Nature of Difference

Curated by Lesley Halliwell and Jo Thorne

9 - 27 March 2015 at Contemporary Art Space Chester

I am really excited to announce the forthcoming opening of SLIPPAGE: The Unstable Nature of Difference.

The exhibition draws together a range of work from a fantastic group of national and international artists whose work explores the uncertain boundaries of physical and psychological identity. Some of the work in the show confronts head-on what it means to be different while others works take us beyond surface appearance and explore medical research or mental health issues.

Artist include:  Katherine Araniello, Lisa Bufano & Jason Tschantre, Eric Fong, Lesley Halliwell, Paddy Hartley, Karen Heald & Susan Liggett, Andrew & Eden Kotting, Noemi Lakmaier, Daksha Patel, Jo Thorne and Alexa Wright.

You are welcome to come along to the opening event on Thursday 12 March, 5 - 7 at Contemporary Art Space Chester, the University of Chester. During the evening there will be a performance of Paper Interior by Karen Heald and Susan Liggett and a special guest appearance by performance poet Jackie Hagan.

More information about the artists taking part and the programme of related events, including a one day symposium (Friday 13 March) which accompanies the exhibition, can be found on the SLIPPAGE website www.slippage.info
